WORDXCHANGETM IS RECOMMENDED IN NEWSWEEK MAGAZINE
WORDXCHANGETM—Award-winning WORDXCHANGETM was recommended in the August 12, 2002 edition of Newsweek Magazine (p.63). In a Family Brainy Games roundup, NewsWeek, in collaboration with Dr. Toy’s childhood-development expert Stevanne Auerbach, reviewed and recommended the best brain-boosting, boredom-bashing games on the market. Among the ten best games picked, WORDXCHANGETM was described as, “Scrabble® with a twist, where players take and transform oponnents’ words to win.”

DR. TOY 10 BEST GAMES WINNER (http://www.drtoy.org)
WORDXCHANGETM—This great new anagram game will provide lots of fun. You race against the clock to make and keep words. The winner is the first to make and line up six words, but the catch is that no word is safe. You can steal words made by your opponents or add one or more letters before reshuffling them into your own. The game is fast. It can be played in a very short time, but the important thing is learning strategy and quick thinking. Each game set includes a game board, 126 transparent matching letter-tiles, 12 pages of illustrated instructions, a timer and 14 sturdy white easels. This game is available in French and in English.

OPPENHEIM TOY PORTFOLIO BEST TOY AWARD GOLD SEAL (http://www.toyportfolio.com)
WORDXCHANGETM—Fans of Scrabble®, Upwords® and other word games will find this an interesting and challenging variation. It's harder than Upwords® and different from Scrabble®. Players create words of three letters or more. Opponents can steal words by adding at least one letter to make a new word. Players cannot add "S" to nouns but they can to verbs. Can be played with 2,3, or 4 players or by teams. We think some 10's will enjoy this—others may benefit from playing on teams with older players. Game takes about 30 minutes and comes with a timer for rounds. We suggest playing with out the timer for beginners.

PARENT’CHOICE SILVER HONOR (http://www.parents-choice.org)
WORDXCHANGETM—In this updated version of the classic anagram game, players compete to be first to form six words from letter tiles on their racks and on the table. But wait! You can also form a word by capturing an opponent's word and rearranging the letters with one or more letters of your own. Good strategy includes evaluating all opponents' words for their conversion possibilities, and making your own words as long as possible to deter their capture. A digital timer is included for cutthroat players. Our testers preferred a more casual game.

WORDXCHANGE JUNIORTM—Got words? The junior sibling of WORDXCHANGETM takes a bit of a different approach to the classic anagram game. Here, players must add at least one letter to create a new word. The first player to complete and keep five words wins. But players beware! Opponents can play, or pilfer others’ completed word-cards. As our young testers said—this game is huge! Detailed instructions include offensive and defensive strategies, restrictions and time limits.

PARENT’S GUIDE AWARD (http://www.su.edu/parentsguide)
WORDXCHANGETM—A game of words and anagrams, WORDXCHANGETM offers quite a challenge to groups and families who love to play with language. The goal of the game is to make and keep six words. It may not sound difficult but it can be a problem if your opponents can steal your words by transforming them into another word by rearranging or adding a letter. It’s fast paced due to the digital timer, well designed and a good brainteaser.

SPILSBURY (http://www.spilsbury.com)
WORDXCHANGETM—A clever and frenzied anagram game that pits you against your rivals and against the clock in an all-out battle to make and keep words. The winner is the first to make and line up six words. The catch? No word is safe! You can steal words made by your opponents, add one or more letters and reshuffle them into one of your own. It's like Scrabble® on 20 cups of coffee!

GAME NIGHT REVIEWS (Issue: March/April 2002 EDPLAY Magazine)
WORDXCHANGETM—I played this with my son and his frind and we had a lot of fun stealing words. I like that you can’t make plurals by adding ‘S”. That always feels like cheating to me. We had a nice age mix—12 (my son) to adult. I love the packaging—very classy, durable and eye-catching. The timer works great and the overall construction is excellent. Well worth the price. My Recommendation: Excellent—3.5 / 4. —Vicci Cook, Associate editor EDPLAY Magazine

NATIONAL PARENTING CENTER’S SEAL OF APPROVAL 2002 (http://www.tnpc.com/soa/Hol02soaframes.htm)
WORDXCHANGE JUNIORTM—This wonderful word building game really impressed our testers with its ability to engage, educate and entertain at the same time. Of course the educational part is hidden within the guise of a fun strategy game. In WORDXCHANGE JUNIORTM players race to build words with letter tiles and then steal words from other players by adding letters to make longer words. The game board and it's pieces are all superbly made and will surely stand the test of many years of game play. The felt bag for keeping pieces together is a great addition. Parents told us that there children were thinking of words and how to build onto them long after they had finished playing.
