WAL-MART AGREES TO STOCK WORDXCHANGE
Games will be in stores for the fall and holiday buying season
In a milestone for the maker of WordXchange and WordXchange Junior, Wal-Mart has agreed to stock the games throughout Canada in time for the 2006-2007 holiday buying season.
The French version of the games, AnagramPlus and AnagramPlus Junior, are already sold at Wal-Mart stores in Quebec.
“Wal-Mart’s growing commitment to WordXchange and WordXchange Junior is a significant achievement for our company,” said Prodijeux, the developer of the games. “The games are catching fire. Friends are telling friends, families are sharing it with other families.
“WordXchange is fun and challenging with a timeless appeal. Its popularity is growing similar to other classic games enjoyed for generations.”
WordXchange and its companion game for younger players, WordXchange Junior, will be available in more than 270 Wal-Marts in Canada by the summer.
The games have garnered numerous prestigious industry and consumer awards from around the world.
The board game, for two to four players, is elegantly designed and includes 126 letter tiles, 14 white plastic easels, black velvet bag, timer and game pad. WordXchange is also available electronically on CD and online at www.highergames.com.
The object of WordXchange is to steal words by adding at least one letter to any word in front of an opposing player and rearranging the letters into a new word. But no word is safe, as players will only keep a just-stolen word until another player adds new letters to make a newer word and steal it a second time. The first player to complete six words wins.
